|We are not crazy, we are The Rhythm' Train
In the fall of 2001, Rhythm' Train was founded by the band members Urs Odermatt, Marcel Brun, Sandro Valente and Walter Thut. They practiced often in an old cowbarn in central Switzerland... and within just one year they released their first 10" vinyl LP "Road to nowhere" including some of their own compositions.
Radio interviews and concerts followed shortly after, and the name Rhythm' Train began to appear more and more in the Press. In 2003 they changed their record label to "Country Elite - Turicaphon" and released the vinyl single "Rhythm' Train Boogie" and in 2004 their first CD "Back on track", who was unter the top 50 in the European Country Charts!
Their songs appear on various samplers across Europe, and countless information can be found on the internet about the band, as well in numerous music magazines which have written full page articles about them. A few highlights in their career thus far are: 2nd place in the Swiss Country Talent Show 2003, concerts in the Stadkeller Lucerne, 103er Club Munich, Country Alpen Open Air Klewenalp, Int. Rockabilly Meeting Munich, Trucker Festival Interlaken, Finale Prix Walo 2004, European Country Music Award 2005 in Austria, etc.
Rhythm' Train plays traditional Country music, Hillbilly à la Hank Williams and as well their own compositions. Hillbilly, Country and Rockabilly with a touch of Western Swing.... that's the sound of Rhythm' Train.
