Presenting The Multi-Dimensional Trade Martin

While performing his high-energy night club act, Trade's audience is usually unaware that he has acted opposite prominent television and movie stars Frank Vincent (Soprano's & Goodfellow's), and the well-respected character actor, Vince Pastore in the feature film thriller, "West New York", composed and conducted movie scores, and arranged & produced a Grammy Award winning album by B.B. King.

In the early 60's as a solo guitarist, Trade recorded the French classic, "LaMer" (Beyond The Sea) for Roulette Records, which was a heavily played instrumental that preceded Bobby Darin's number one vocal version of the same song, then discovered and first produced Larry Chance and the Earls, ("Life Is But A Dream"), on his own Rome Record Label; and performed his charted hit, "That Stranger Used To Be My Girl", (Coed Records), on national TV shows including Dick Clark's American Bandstand. In the mid-sixties he also recorded the Northern Soul collector's favorite, "She Put The Hurt On Me" (Stallion records) and a few "Motown genera" singles for his own Toot records.

As a top studio guitarist, vocalist, arranger and orchestrator, he was closely associated with many of the legendary names in the record industry including: Leiber and Stoller, Carol King, Ed Miller, Bobby Darin, Jeff Barry, Phil Spector, Carol-Bayer Sager, Sid Seidenberg, Murray Kaufman, Jerry Wexler, Steven Stills, Joan Baez, Sid Bernstein and Burt Bacharach. Besides his earlier hit records, Trade composed the internationally charted hit, "Take Me For A Little While", by Vanilla Fudge, Dusty Springfield, Patty LaBelle and Cher.

In the field of music for advertising, he earned the distinction of having composed, arranged, produced or sung on radio and television spots for more than 56 of the top 100 leading advertisers, which resulted in his multiple Clio nominations. TWA's "Up, Up and Away", Pepsi-Cola, Pan Am, Aviance Night, the famous Prudential "Piece Of The Rock" jingle, and numerous campaigns for Colgate, Exxon and Gillette are just some of the few he's been intensely involved with.

During the seventies, he is credited with discovering, and first producing the B.T. Express, ("Do It Till You're Satisfied"), and after signing with RCA Victor and recording a number of noted Northern Soul singles for the prestigious label, Martin also composed, arranged and conducted the scores for the motion pictures "Hail To The Chief" and Renee Taylor-Joe Bologna's "Made For Each Other". The latter movie score was released on Buddah Records along with his all original, "Let Me Touch You" solo album, which has recently been re-issued.

Besides producing B.B. King's version of T. Bone Walker's "Stormy Monday Blues", the title song of the movie starring Melanie Griffith and Tommy Lee Jones, he also composed, arranged and produced two cuts on the legendary star's "King Of The Blues" CD, King's renown "Live At San Quentin" CD *** and many new exciting blues originals for B.B.'s forthcoming MCA releases. Between his extremely active schedule, Martin has a passion for entertaining at intimate cafes, singing our National Anthem at a stadium and making guest appearances or being an MC at telethons & benefit concerts. As a diversion, he also enjoys training and driving harness horses at many of the northeast's major racetracks.

Now with a dynamic, all original Christmas CD, "Peace To The World", offered on Amazon, (for review go to Christmasreviews.com), and his classic blues "B. B. King Tribute", which contains Trade's distinctive versions of songs that he composed, arranged, and produced with the world famous blues artist.
