DJ At's Crazy Record Hop Presents:
Foot Tappin' & Dance at the Screamin' Festival Vol.1

El Toro Records, ETCD 1017

DJ At's is an original on the rockabilly scene and a vivid dancer himself, he knows exactly what it takes to get a crowd on the dancefloor and more importantly, to keep them there all night long. At's style of playing is firmly rooted in the musical styles from the 1930's till the early 1960's. Whether it's Rockabilly, Rock 'n' Roll, Hillbilly, Boogie Woogie, Jump and Jive, Bluesbop or (Western) Swing, he blends the styles perfectly. All the songs have a medium beat, that's why it's so danceable when DJ At spins the wax, you simply can't sit still!

Over the last couple of years, At has received invitations to spin the records at various Rockabilly and Swing festivals around the globe. Now you've got the chance to have him at your event too. This is his first offical CD release, the CD release party will be held together with the Hometown Gamblers on Februari 23, 2008, at the "Gildenhuis" Dorpsstraat 42 in Stekene, Belgium.

Review:
This Cd contains 27 great songs from 25 original artists, almost every Rock 'n' Roll style is represent. The opener "Rockin' At Midnight" from Roy Brown get's you right out of your chair, you'll want to boogie! With "I Wanna Know" you don't wanna sit down either. Next is Ella Fitzgerald's "Chew Your Bubblegum", 1940's Swing. "Safronia B." from Calvin Boze is where all you Lindy Hoppers are waiting for! Guy Mitchell's "Crazy With Love" is full of Rockabilly Swing. "Bingo" is what we're playing with Pat Boone and then some instrumental Boogie Woogie: "Windy City Boogie" from J.T. Brown. Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys are playing "So let's Rock", Rock 'n' Roll as it should be. Everybody knows "Good Golly Miss Molly" offcourse from Little Richard. The Four Tunes take it from there with a fast Doo Wop song "Marie". With Tommy Dorsey & his Orchestra we are back with the 1940's Swinger "On The Beach At Bali-Bali". Jack Ford plays "That's All you Gotta Do" a nice Hillbilly song.

Jump and Jive with "Boot 'Em Up" from The Du-Droppers and "Little Lovin", Rockabilly, from Mimi Roman are next on the menu. Paul Howard's Western Swing "Rootie Tootie" is followed up by Ella Mea Morse's Boogie Woogie song "Tennessee Saturday Night". Bob Wills & his Texas Playboys let's his Big Band Swing with "The Girl I Left Behind Me". Very nice Doo Wop then from The Royals: "Are You Forgetting". Then a bit faster with Carl Smith's Rockabilly song "Go Boy Go". Roy Brown get's the Lindy Hoppers back on the floor with "Shake 'Em Up Baby", LaVern Baker goes Rock 'n' Rolling with "Jim Dandy". Then it's Boogie Woogie time with "Tend to your Business" from James Wayne and Dude Martin's "Boogie Woogie Cowboy". A very nice Doo Wop song "Move Me Baby" from Jimmy Whitterspoon & The Lamplitters is followed by a Jump and Jive song that's called "Rock Me Daddy", done by Laurie Tate. Over to some Hillbilly Swing with The Miller Brothers, "Who's Gonna Know" they ask themselves. If you just haven't had enough, the last time you can swing is with Wild Bill Moore when he plays "Hey Spo-Dee-O-Dee", try to sit still with this one! So if you like to dance to original Rockin' tunes, this is a must have!
