About Kidd Kane:
Kidd Kane started singing back in 1976 in West London playing in various rock 'n' roll bands until in 1991 when he went on tour to Portugal for six months. When he returned to England it wasn't long before Kidd went over to the United States for six years working on the music circuit out there. He is a dynamic and versatile entertainer, who once seen is never forgotten.

Kidd Kane has performed and appeared on TV and radio on an international basis from Scandinavia to Europe to the USA, as well as nationally and locally. Kidd Kane has also worked with the likes of Jerry Lee Lewis, Chubby Checker, Paul Burlinson and James Burton and many other well known stars from this era.

Aaron Kane has a truly original style, as he takes classic songs from the 1950's and early 60's and adapts them to his own unique style, this combined with his energetic performances of these songs will keep the audience on the edge of their seats right to the final note. Now in 2006 Kidd Kane is doing the one thing he has always dreamed of doing for many many years: front Johnny Kidd's Pirates.

Review:
On October 7th of this year it will be 40 years ago that Johnny Kidd (born Frederick Heath) died in a car accident. The release of this album is a great way of tributing one of the ground breaking artists of British rock 'n' roll music. The musicians on this CD are none less than the original Pirates who recorded "Shakin' All Over" in 1960; Brian Gregg and Clem Cattini, plus Joe Moretti's son, also named Joe Moretti.

Recorded at the Western Star Studio and produced & engineered by Alan Wilson, quality is guaranteed. The record starts with Vince Taylor's "Brand New Cadillac", no surprise, because Joe Moretti Sr. also played guitar on the original recording by Vince Taylor in 1959. The sound is awesome, just as powerfull, or maybe even a bit more, than the original recording. After just one song, I already have goosebumps on my arm. Kidd Kane has a fabulous voice and Brian Gregg's greasy thumping bass crawls under your skin.

The tracklisting is a trip down memory lane, with Sanford Clark's "The Fool", Simon Scott's "Move It Baby", Johnny Kidd's original "Please Don't Touch" and "Shakin' All Over", Jack Scott's "Baby She's Gone", Willie Dixon's "My Babe" (Vince Taylor style), Jody Reynolds' "Endless Sleep" and a lot of songs played by The Pirates at one time or another.

The title song, a cover of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers "Cabin Down Below", is absolutely top notch and surely my favorite track on this album. Joe Moretti Jr. is amazing on the lead guitar, also with additional Hammond organ by Alan Wilson. One of the best albums I've heard in a long time, five stars well deserved!
