|Live At Tokyo Garden, Cattie Ness & The Revenge
Once upon a time there was a cattie girl who lived in Fresno. She loned Mike and she loved cats and she wanted to rock & roll. Some people thought she should stay home, so she didn't... the rest is history.
For years now, she's been threatening to put out a CD as Cattie Ness & The Revenge have played every major west coast event from the Grease Ball in San Francisco to Viva Las Vegas, so it's about time. CattIe Ness is a true rockabilly femme fatale, who has turned many heads and broken many hearts, and in turn, garnered many fans, including Dave Alvin, who sings about her on his latest,"i left my heart in small town somewhere off highway 99" and Dave Gonzales, who always invites her up to do a song or two with him. Cattie Ness and the Revenge have been featured in CK Deluxe and Varla magazines, and most recently in Ruta 66 (Barcelona) and Rockin' Annual (Finland).
And what a wonderful CD it is... featuring some of Cattie's favorites recorded live at her infamous lair, Tokyo Garden in Fresno, California. For two years, Tokyo Garden was the home of her monthly show "The Cattie Ness Cafe" where she brought everybody from the likes of Big Sandy and the Fly-Rite Boys to Deadbolt, so she thought it fitting to use a place so full of great memories for the local rockabilly scene.
"Live at Tokyo Garden" features great versions of classic country hits like George's Playhouse and Alimony, tributes to local country stars Maddox Brothers and Rose who lived in the region, and she never hesitates to sing cattie songs about dumb men, breaking hearts, and her undeniable sex appeal. Needless to say, this tongue-in-cheek high energy hillbilly rock and roll really appeals to both sexes, and never fails to please the crowd.
