|The Wheelgrinders, Stunning Rockabilly Canada
"Wow! Stunning Rockabilly debut album from Canadian trio, The Wheelgrinders... it goes straight into my list of top 10 Rockabilly albums of 2017!" - Slap That Bass Rockabilly, R&B, Psychobilly, Rock 'n' Roll
"...the trio certainly knows it's style - the stand up bass slaps, the drums swing like crazy and the Gretsch guitar burns right through."
"...what makes them of real interest is their own originals, which fit the rockabilly mould but with added tongue-in-cheek lyrics."
"A powerful trio with serious chops this band kicks up a dust cloud of rockin' hillbilly dance tunes designed to melt your hairdo and wear holes in your shoe leather."
Red hot Vancouver traditional rockabilly trio, The Wheelgrinders have been blazing a trail of grinding rockabilly music across the Lower Mainland of BC and beyond since June of 2016. Comprised of three veterans of the Vancouver rockabilly and roots music scene, Greg Tiernan (Vocals/Lead Guitar) Caroline Helmeczi (Vocals/Bass) and Stuart Quayle (Drums) play an uptempo mix of classic songs by rockabilly icons like Carl Perkins, Eddie Cochran and Charlie Feathers as well as their own self-penned rockabilly numbers which are highly danceable with tongue-in cheek whimsical lyrics.
"Space Rabbits, Go!" and "Hangry Baby" are two of The Wheelgrinders' originals you'll find on their rockin' debut album "Torque-Flite Baby". Recorded at The Warehouse Studio in Gastown as well as at the legendary Sun Studios in Memphis TN, this album is high octane rockabilly from start to rip-roaring finish.
